So, you’re in Miami. Sun shining, ocean glistening, and… you’re hangry. And I get it. In a city where every corner seems to house a new restaurant with neon lights, deciding where to eat can feel like a Hunger Games situation. But don’t worry, I’ve been there, done that (minus the actual bow and arrow), and I’m here to help.

I’ve traveled to Miami more times than I can count, mostly for work-related events, either mine or my partner’s. Along the way, I’ve become an unofficial Miami restaurant scout. Now, let me be upfront: I spend what some might call an "excessive" amount of time researching places to eat. If I had my way every time, we’d exclusively dine at farm-to-table, organic, sustainably focused restaurants. You know, the ones that make you feel like you’re saving the planet and your arteries at the same time.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking: “Wow, Cecelia, you must be a delight to travel with.” Some call it high maintenance; I prefer "health-conscious with a purpose." Because here’s the deal: prioritizing your health should not be seen as weird or overly demanding. Let’s be real, we all want to live longer, feel better, and not accidentally eat a plate of microplastics, right? RIGHT?

And if you’ve ever felt like the odd one out at a table full of people who just don’t get it when it comes to food quality… trust me, you’re not alone. It’s like trying to explain that there are microplastics in our food and getting blank stares in return. “Can’t see it, can’t taste it—so what’s the problem?” they say. Well, ever heard of people believing in a higher power without physically seeing them? Yeah, exactly.

But I digress. I’m not here to preach about clean eating (okay, maybe a little). The point is, these places I’m about to recommend may not check every single box in my "health-conscious foodie manifesto," but they’re delicious, have both some healthy and indulgent options, and a solid step in the right direction. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!.

The (Semi) Healthy Miami Restaurant Hit List

Mediterranean vibes for days. Fresh ingredients, clean flavors, and a rustic outdoor seating area that makes you feel like you’ve been transported to Greece. The Greek Village salad is delicious - trust me.

This spot brings Israeli flair to Miami. Think vibrant, herb-laden dishes packed with flavor, locally sourced ingredients, and made fresh daily in house. Try the Fire Roasted Brussell Sprouts, Sweet Corn Tabbouleh, or Shakshuka!

3. Planta

A plant-based paradise devoted to sustainability and a local approach to sourcing, hiring, and community support. Even if you’re a carnivore, this vegan haven will make you forget about meat for a while. Try the cauliflower tots or lettuce wraps —you won’t regret it.

A cozy little family-owned café with smoothies, fresh juice, and light fare including salads and bowls.  It’s the perfect stop after a long day at the beach when you need something refreshing and wholesome.

A great balance of health and indulgence. Their salads and grilled meats (and fish) offer that balance you need when you want to feel good but also… eat something delicious.

A gem that’s all about farm-fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The brunch menu has something for everyone, although I’ve only personally tried their dinner menu.

Authentic Mediterranean flavors with a modern twist and six locations. Their Za’atar Greek salad hits the spot.  Pro tip: their outdoor seating offers great people-watching.

A neighborhood favorite, blending Latin flavors with a farm-to-table approach. The Fresh Florida Mahi here? Chef’s kiss. Just don't ask me how many I've eaten.

This super cute plant-based spot nails it with creative plant-based dishes that even non-vegetarians will love. I’ve got my eyes on the Protein Scramble for my next visit.

For when you’re feeling a little more indulgent (we are human after all!), this Italian spot is the place. It’s not farm-to-table, but the handmade pasta and charcuterie boards are too good to pass up. Balance, right?

So there you have it, folks: my carefully curated list of Miami’s best spots for the health-conscious (or at least health-curious) eater. You don’t have to be a full-on wellness warrior to enjoy these places, but hey, you might just leave feeling a little better about your choices—and maybe with a slightly smaller microplastic load.

Bon appétit and may your Miami meals be as sunny as the skies!
